Over 180 people attended the Hope’s Door 2019 Annual Fall Luncheon on Friday October 18 at Scarsdale Golf Club on a glorious fall day.  The view from the windows in the club showcased the sugar maples and oaks cloaked in showy reds, yellows and oranges.

The event kicked off with networking in the Lakeview Room, where guests mingled and participated in the Buckets of Hope raffle, actively bid on about 60 silent auction items, and purchased gifts for Hope’s Door clients from the Giving Tree.   The event raised more than $63,000 for Hope’s Door programs and services.

A savory luncheon of chicken, butternut squash risotto, and asparagus was enjoyed during this year’s program, which featured an expert panel comprised of David M. Ryan, Chief of Police Pound Ridge; Michelle Kaminsky, Esq., Prosecutor and Author of Reflections of a Domestic Violence Prosecutor: Suggestions for Reform; Amy Slotnick, Esq., of APS Law PC; Maya Lloyd, Hope’s Door Assistant Director of Community Services; Mia Pergolizzi, Esq., Hope’s Door Attorney; and moderated by Hope’s Door Director of Legal Services, Stacey Neumann, Esq.  The panel discussed a case study of a composite client named “Hope.”   Each expert on the panel brought their perspective to the case as well as highlighted the collaboration required to support this and all victims seeking safety, independence and healing from the trauma of abuse.
