The event challenges participants to pledge to walk 20 miles throughout the month of October. This distance symbolizes the pervasive nature of domestic abuse and honors victims everywhere. It highlights the alarming statistic that nearly 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner each minute in the United States, according to the National Center for Injury and Prevention Control.
To donate or register as a participant text P2PF1 to 7177.
If your student/youth group or organization is interested in starting its own team, reach out to: Patti Reyes D’Agostino | Director of Development | pdagostino@hopesdoorny.org
Join us at the Bedford Playhouse for a conversation with Michelle Horton, author of an acclaimed book that explores the vast impact domestic violence and criminalized survival has on a family and community. Moderated by Susan Williamson, owner of Booksy Galore.
Dear Sister is a breathtaking memoir about two sisters and a high-profile case: the author’s sister, Nikki Addimando, spent 7 years incarcerated for killing her longtime abuser, and was released from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in January of 2024. Dear Sister is a profound, intimate story about not just surviving trauma, but turning it into hard-won wisdom. It is a story of resilience and the unbreakable bond of family.
Books will be available for sale at the event. Tickets sold by the Bedford Playhouse.
The Hope’s Door Advisory Council invites you to an unforgettable evening at Kanopi, in White Plains, featuring cocktails, breathtaking skyline views, and a culinary experience from Chef Anthony Gonçalves and more.
