Hope’s Door supports survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence this Denim Day and every day.

History of Denim Day:

In 1998, the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape case because the sexual assault survivor was wearing jeans. The Court stated that because the jeans were tight, the victim must have helped her attacker remove her jeans, thereby providing consent.

In response, Italian women working in Parliament wore jeans to work the day after the case was overturned. This began Denim Day.

Wednesday, April 24, 2019 is Denim Day. Join Hope’s Door in spreading awareness about misconceptions surrounding sexual assault by wearing denim.
