Janmarie Brown joined Hope’s Door in September, 2019 as the Director of Community Services, to oversee programs in Hawthorne, Ossining, Lewisboro, and the Family Justice Center in White Plains. She was promoted to Chief Program Officer in January 2022.  Janmarie administers our counseling, support group, economic empowerment, human trafficking, high- risk reduction, court-based, and prevention programs, serving both children and adults. Janmarie brings more than 10 years of experience to her position at Hope’s Door. She worked with children in residential treatment centers, many with special education needs, and is recognized for her work against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and Human Trafficking. Janmarie has served on New York State, New York City, and Westchester County anti-trafficking task forces; International Organization for Adolescents’ (IOFA) Child Rights subcommittees; and collaborated with New York City Administration for Children’s Services, Westchester Department of Social Services, and Office of Children and Family Services on providing trauma-informed services to survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Janmarie earned her BA in Applied Psychology and Human Relations from Pace University and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy College. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
