Brittany Hodgins joined Hope’s Door in 2012 and served as a Children’s Counselor in our emergency shelter program. Her work with children residing in the shelter relied heavily on individual counseling, children’s support groups, play therapy and creative arts therapy – all designed to help children break the silence and begin to heal from the trauma of abuse. After seven years with our agency, Brittany was promoted to Assistant Director at our emergency shelter in May 2019 which later became Director since November 2020. As the director, her responsibilities have increased to include facilities management, data collection, ongoing training and supervision of staff. Brittany has a BA in Applied Psychology from Pace University and has had extensive training in trauma-informed victim services.
